Upcoming Clinics at John's Run/Walk Shop. All clinics start at 7pm and will be held in the yellow building directly across the street from John's Run/Walk Shop. As always, our clinics are free for everyone to attend. We are requiring RSVP's for each event since space is limited. Please click on the link for each event to sign up. Once an event is full the sign-up page will be taken down and it will be announced as full.

March 6th - Running Injuries: Prevention and Treatment
Rae Everson, Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at U.K. and Trainer for the Track & Field and Cross Country teams, will present a clinic on how to prevent and treat running injuries. March is one of the peak months for running injuries in the shop, primarily from people who are training for a spring marathon or half marathon. Rae will go over how to prevent these injuries and treat these injuries after they have occurred. Click here to sign up.
April 3rd - 5K/10K/Half Marathon Training
Do you want to be in top shape by the Bluegrass 10,000 and Midsummer Night's Run 5K? Then come to this clinic and get some tips from one of the top masters runners in the U.S., Kevin Castille. Kevin will give advice on specific training for the 5K and 10K and will also discuss some half marathon training tips too. Click here to sign up.
May 9th - Using Technology to Improve Your Running
It's time to put that GPS, Nike+, iPhone, Training Peaks and HRM to work to better improve your running. Gary Ditsch, owner of Endurance Base Camp, will present this clinic on how to use technology to make you a better and faster runner. June 12th - Mental Strategies for Training and Racing
The Bluegrass 10,000 and Midsummer Night's Run 5K are just around the corner. Come listen to Thomas Morgan, former Zap Fitness sponsored runner, SEC XC Champion and current U.K. Assistant Track & Field Coach for Distance events, give tips on how to mentally prepare for not only race day, but for your everyday training too. With so many people running the half marathon and marathon distances these days mental preparation is even more important. July 18th - Building a Successful Plan for a Healthy Life
Running and walking are just part of an overall plan for a healthy and balanced life. Join Shelia Kalas, owner of Fitness Plus, as she outlines how to integrate excercise with diet to achieve your fitness goals. She will discuss the role of exercise vs diet, how to set achievable exercise goals, how to remove barriers between you and exercise, and how to separate fact from fiction when it comes to exercise and diet.
