This Saturday is the 10th Annual Shamrock Shuffle!
The race is put on by Lexington’s Habitat for Humanity. The race starts at 8:00 am near the corner of Vine and Upper. The race distance is 3K, which is 1.86 miles.
You can register by clicking here. You can also register in person at different locations this week. There is also a Shuffle Off to Sleep option for those that want to support Habitat for Humanity and get a race shirt, but don’t want to run the race. Parking is free. Strollers are welcome (although they request that you line up at the back). And costumes are encouraged. There is a costume contest at the finish line right after the race!
Proceeds benefit Lexington Habitat for Humanity and their outreach efforts.
Lexington Habitat for Humanity has served more than 400 families locally and 325 families internationally through affordable homeownership since 1986. Lexington Habitat is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Lexington Habitat is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
